How we edit

A garment review is only useful if you can tell which parts were observed and which parts were copied from a product page. This page is the boundary between the two.

Four sources, and we name which one

Wearpost does not run a fit laboratory. Every factual statement about a garment belongs to one of four categories, and the entry says which:

What we will not write

No "we tested this for six weeks". No "after 40 washes". No invented fit model. No sentence that puts a claim in a brand's mouth it did not make. These are the four failure modes that make clothing writing untrustworthy, and they are all easy to avoid if you are willing to write less.

We also do not publish star ratings we cannot trace. A rating needs a specific product page, a countable number of reviews, and a date. A score that appears identically across a dozen products on the same site is a store-level widget, not a product rating, and we leave it out.

How shortlists are built

A shortlist starts with the constraint, not the brand. For a pair of work trousers the constraint might be a rise above 10 inches, a wool blend that holds a crease, and a hem that can be let down. We then look for garments that satisfy the constraint, in any price band, from any retailer.

Commission does not enter the decision. Some shortlisted garments have no affiliate programme; some have one and we link to the brand directly instead. When a page has outbound links, the disclosure sits directly above the list — not in the footer, not on a separate page.

Corrections and updates

Size charts change. Products are discontinued. When we notice, we revise the entry, change the updated date and leave the published date alone. If you find an error before we do, write to mail@wearpost.com with the page and the source; corrections are made in the entry itself.
